Education Law

Saiber’s Education Law practice deals with a diverse range of education issues, including federal and state constitutional requirements, statutes and regulations, aspects of employment counseling & litigation, civil rights law, real estate and government liability.

School districts operate in a number of roles, including as employers, purchasers of goods and services, lessors, lessees and purchasers of property and financial managers. Our attorneys provide advice and services in all of these areas, with sensitivity to the special public mission of school districts.

Schools and school districts often require quick practical solutions to problems that arise in day-to-day operations, including student discipline, employee discipline and termination, confidentiality of school records, response to suspected child abuse and services for students with special education needs. Our attorneys serve schools and school districts as general counsel and can quickly respond to urgent questions relating to these issues.

We also serve as special counsel on complex matters involving creation and approval of charter schools, compliance with constitutional and statutory mandates, restructuring of school districts, discrimination and faculty termination.

Our goal is always to avoid problems through the use of preventive measures and counseling. However, if litigation arises we are highly experienced in representing schools and school districts in the federal and state courts or before state and federal administrative agencies.
