Steve Friedland concentrates his practice in employment and business law and litigation across a variety of industries, including significant experience representing staffing firms. He has successfully defended employers against claims of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wage and hour violations in federal and state courts, and before administrative agencies. He also advises clients on general business matters and represents their interests in commercial litigation.
Steve regularly counsels clients on a broad range of employment matters, such as hiring and termination decisions, leave, worker classifications, workforce reductions, and other day-to-day compliance issues. In addition, his practice involves providing advice on and litigating the enforcement of restrictive covenants. He routinely drafts employee handbooks, separation agreements and releases, and settlement agreements.
He has been a frequent contributor to advisories and presentations to business owners and executives on legal developments impacting staffing and other industries.
Steve’s focus is on providing strategic advice to help clients navigate evolving workplace challenges, mitigate risk, and achieve practical business solutions.
Prior to joining Saiber, Steve was a partner at Freedman & Friedland LLC. In addition, he previously practiced employment and labor law on behalf of management at two nationally recognized law firms. He began his career in public service, working on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., as a legislative aide to the late former Congresswoman Marge Roukema, and for the late Honorable Bill Richardson.
