On Friday, April 28th, attorneys from Allstate Insurance Company and Saiber LLC joined Street Law, Inc., a nonprofit organization that creates classroom and community programs that teach people about the law, in hosting a mock trial for approximately 40 11th grade students at Barringer High School in Newark. The students conducted a personal injury trial, presenting opening and closing statements, conducting direct and cross examination of the fact witnesses and an expert witness, and serving on the jury. Presiding over the trial was former Municipal Court Judge Cassandra Savoy. Students spent weeks preparing with the guidance from attorneys and professionals at Allstate and Saiber.
