Saiber has partnered with the Greater Newark chapter of Habitat for Humanity, helping homebuyers sift through the paperwork associated with a home sale. Habitat for Humanity is a world service organization that provides affordable homes with interest-free mortgages to families in need. Saiber attorneys assist Habitat’s clients in all facets of a closing, including reviewing real estate and loan documents, explaining purchase and mortgage terms, reviewing calculations and providing advice on the funds necessary for the closing, and confirming that the necessary paperwork has been submitted. Many of Habitat for Humanity’s clients are underserved members of the community, including veterans, immigrants and families of disabled children.

Working with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Newark has been one of the most rewarding aspects of my legal career. Our partnership has allowed me to provide underserved members of the community the proper legal representation that they may not have received otherwise. Being part of such a monumental moment in a family’s life has been life changing.

For years, Saiber has teamed with Allstate Insurance Company and Street Law, Inc. to host a day-long legal educational program and mock trial for underserved students in New Jersey. Developed by Street Law, Inc., a nonprofit organization that creates classroom and community programs that teach people about the law, this annual program includes interactive workshops, breakout prep sessions for the plaintiff’s and defendant’s “counsel,” a networking lunch, and culminates in a mock trial put on entirely by the students.
Saiber attorneys and staff members participate in the program each year as speakers, student coaches, jury members, and event organizers. The students spend the school day at Saiber’s Florham Park office and are exposed to the challenges attorneys face every day.
I have organized the Street Law program here at Saiber since 2013 and look forward to it every year. The students who participate are engaged, eager to learn, and talented -- they come prepared and ready to win!

Our lawyers work closely with Volunteer Lawyers for Justice, a program that provides free legal services to low-income adults, children and families in New Jersey to ensure fair and equal treatment within the legal system. We have provided legal services ranging from general legal advice to full representation on a variety of civil legal issues, including debt collection defense and estate planning for military veterans.
My experience with working with VLJ has been invaluable. Having the opportunity to give back to the community has been incredibly rewarding and is something I value as an attorney.
