Saiber LLC is pleased to announce that Arnold B. Calmann has been reappointed as a member of the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey Patent Rules Committee (PRC).
Arnie’s reappointment reflects his longstanding involvement with the Committee, having been an original member since its inception in 2008. The PRC is charged with evaluating, drafting, and implementing Local Patent Rules governing patent litigation in the District of New Jersey. Arnie previously served as Chair of the Hatch-Waxman Subcommittee, where he played a key role in addressing complex issues related to pharmaceutical patent litigation.
The Patent Rules Committee is composed of federal judges and experienced practitioners and serves an important function in ensuring the effective administration of patent cases in one of the nation’s most active federal districts for intellectual property disputes.
Arnie is a highly regarded litigator with more than 40 years of experience representing clients in corporate, commercial, complex, and multi-party litigation, with a focus on intellectual property, antitrust, trade regulation, and business torts. His practice also includes advising clients on corporate compliance, distribution and franchise matters, and officer and director counseling. He has been consistently recognized for his experiencing, including annual selection to New Jersey Super Lawyers and recognition in Chambers USA, where clients and peers describe him as “a top-notch, well-versed IP attorney” and “among the best of the best.”
In addition to his work with the PRC, Arnie has served since 2010 as a member of the Lawyers Advisory Committee to the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey, acting as a liaison between the bench, bar, and public and assisting in the review of local court rules and procedures.
