Marc Freedman is a Member of Saiber LLC’s Business Services practice group. Over the course of his career, Marc’s practice has focused on business and corporate law, mergers & acquisitions, employment law, and litigation. Prior to joining Saiber, Marc was a founder and managing partner of Freedman & Friedland LLC, a firm with a particular emphasis on serving clients within the staffing industry.
Marc has extensive experience in all areas of corporate and employment practice, including corporate acquisitions, financing agreements, labor relations, contract negotiations, collective bargaining, litigation, wage and hour laws, discrimination litigation and investigations, employment termination, unjust dismissals, creation and review of corporate policies and procedures, licensing, security clearances, and the establishment of branch and subsidiary businesses internationally. In addition, his former firm litigated restrictive covenant issues in numerous states. Marc has spent much of his time advising senior corporate executives on legal, business, and operational matters.
Marc previously served as a senior executive officer and general counsel to one of the largest and most diversified public companies in the temporary employment industry, held the title of Chief Legal Officer and oversaw the Human Resource and Risk Insurance Departments. In addition to counselling the Board of Directors and other senior executives, he was responsible for ensuring legal compliance with securities laws, labor laws, and various other state and federal regulations.
He frequently conducts seminars and webinars on employment and labor law, writes articles on legal issues relevant to the temporary employment industry, and has published advisories on topics such as co-employment and per diem expenses. He is also the author of the Recruiter and Salesperson's Manual for Legal Issues Arising in the Temporary Technical Staffing Industry, published by the National Technical Services Association (“NTSA”).
Marc currently serves as General Counsel for the New Jersey Staffing Alliance and previously held the same position with the National Association for Personnel Services. He was Special Counsel to the NTSA prior to its merger with American Staffing Association and served as Co-Chairman of the NTSA Legal/Legislative Committee as well as a member of its Board of Directors and Executive Committee.
