Katherine A. Escanlar represents businesses in federal and state courts throughout New Jersey, with a practice centered on complex commercial litigation and a particular focus on intellectual property and competition-related disputes. Katherine’s intellectual property work includes representing clients in disputes involving patents, trade secrets, and confidential business information, as well as related claims involving unfair competition and other competitive business practices. She has experience in Hatch-Waxman litigation, including matters arising under the Abbreviated New Drug Application (ANDA) framework, and works with pharmaceutical clients and co-counsel on patent infringement and related regulatory considerations. She frequently serves as New Jersey counsel for out-of-state law firms and their clients, providing insight into the procedural expectations and day-to-day practices of courts throughout the state. Katherine works closely with lead counsel to advance matters efficiently, assisting with filings, motion practice, discovery, and trial preparation, while helping to navigate the procedural nuances of the District of New Jersey that can impact case strategy and timing.
In addition to her commercial litigation and intellectual property work, Katherine represents employers in a range of workplace disputes, including claims involving discrimination, retaliation, and termination. She also advises and represents colleges and universities in connection with employment matters and other disputes involving faculty, administrators, and students, bringing a practical understanding of the legal and operational challenges facing higher education institutions.
Prior to joining Saiber, Katherine served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Steven L. Lefelt of the Superior Court of New Jersey, Appellate Division.
