Saiber Represents Mohegan Pennsylvania in Successful Renewal of Casino License

January 29, 2024

Saiber gaming attorney Kevin C. Hayes successfully represented Mohegan Pennsylvania before the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (“PGCB”) in the administrative proceeding to renew the Category 1 casino operator license for Mohegan Pennsylvania’s casino located in Northeastern Pennsylvania.

On Wednesday, January 24th, 2024, the PGCB unanimously approved Mohegan Pennsylvania for a five-year renewal of its license, determining that this casino operator had fulfilled the obligations under its previously approved license.  As part of the license renewal process, Kevin appeared on behalf of Mohegan Pennsylvania before the PGCB at its licensing hearing in Harrisburg and its public input hearing in Luzerne County, where testimony was offered from local government officials, community groups and the Pennsylvania State Police, as well as the PGCB’s Bureau of Investigations and Enforcement.

Mohegan Pennsylvania made history in 2006 when it became Pennsylvania’s first casino. Mohegan Pennsylvania’s facility is located in Plains Township and features over 67,700 square feet of gaming space, a harness racing track, a 238-room hotel, and a 20,000 square foot Convention Center.
