Jakob Halpern, a member of Saiber’s intellectual property and business litigation practice groups, has been appointed as the new Co-Director of the John C. Lifland American Inn of Court. American Inns of Court are associations of lawyers, judges, and other legal professionals who work together to build and strengthen professional relationships; discuss fundamental concerns about professionalism and pressing legal issues of the day; share experiences and advice; exhort the utmost passion and dedication for the law; provide mentoring opportunities; and advance the highest levels of integrity, ethics, and civility. The Lifland Inn of Court focuses on Intellectual Property and Federal Practice in the District of New Jersey, and includes among its members many of the District and Magistrate Judges of the District of New Jersey, and both leading lights and rising stars of the New Jersey federal bar.
Alongside his Co-Director, Jake will help plan and coordinate the Inn’s educational programming, mentor younger attorneys, and assist in overseeing the organization’s operations and initiatives. Jake’s term as Co-Director will run for four years.
In addition to his role as Co-Director and Master of the Inn, Jake is a seasoned litigator with extensive experience representing clients in a wide array of complex commercial and multi-party disputes, often in federal court. He practices in the Firm’s intellectual property, business litigation, and employment law practice groups, and leads the Firm's trademark counseling practice group. Jake is a Trustee of the Association of the Federal Bar of New Jersey and a long-time committee member in the International Trademark Association, among other roles. Jake received his A.B. from Dartmouth College in 1999, and his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center in 2004.
