Jake Halpern to be Installed as an Officer of the Association of the Federal Bar of New Jersey

Saiber LLC is pleased to announce that Jakob Halpern will be sworn in as an Officer of the Association of the Federal Bar of New Jersey (AFBNJ) at the 49th Annual William J. Brennan, Jr. Awards Reception on June 9th at the Park Chateau in East Brunswick, New Jersey.

Jake will serve as one of seven Officers, who are responsible for guiding the Association’s strategic direction, planning key educational programing and events, and overseeing its overall operations. Jake’s first term will be served as Secretary, where he will be responsible for maintaining the Association’s records and preparing meeting minutes.

Jake currently serves as a Trustee of the AFBNJ, where he held the role of Co-Chair of the Judicial Conference for the past two years. He has also served on the Brown Bag Luncheon and Pro Bono Committees and currently serves as Chair of the NextGen Division.

The AFBNJ is a preeminent legal organization founded in 1971 to connect the federal bench and bar across Newark, Trenton, and Camden. It facilitates networking, professional education, and improvements in federal practice.

Jake represents clients in corporate, commercial, complex and multi-party litigation with an emphasis on intellectual property law. He also counsels clients regarding intellectual property rights issues, including the clearance, registration and enforcement of trademarks and trademark rights.  Jake is also currently the co-Director of the John Lifland Federal Practice Inn of Court, and prior to joining Saiber clerked for the Hon. William Matthew Byrne, Jr., on the United States District Court for the Central District of California, following a year as a litigation associate at a prominent D.C. law firm.  He received his A.B. from Dartmouth College in 1999 and his J.D. from Georgetown University Law School in 2004.
